How We Train Young Athletes
LIFT Lincoln is a private membership gym where every member trains with real coaching. Our youth athlete training program brings that same standard to kids ages 12 and up. Marissa teaches proper form before adding a single pound to the bar. No ego, no rush, no shortcuts. Your athlete learns to move correctly first, and that foundation makes everything else possible.
Because LIFT is a private facility, your teen trains in a safe, controlled environment. No crowded gym floor. No feeling intimidated or overlooked. Sessions are one-on-one or two people maximum. Every exercise is coached. Every program is designed around your athlete's sport, age, and stage of development.

We understand the decision to start your child in a strength training program is not one you take lightly. You want to know your athlete is safe, supervised, and training in a way that is appropriate for their age and development. That is exactly how Marissa approaches every session at the gym.
LIFT Lincoln is a private membership gym, and that matters for younger athletes. Your teen is never on a crowded floor with strangers. There is no unsupervised lifting. No pressure to go heavier than they are ready for. Marissa is there for every rep, adjusting form in real time, progressing at the pace that is right for your child. Sessions are capped at two people maximum, and most youth athletes train one-on-one.
Myth vs. Reality
"Lifting Stunts Growth"
This is one of the most persistent myths in youth fitness, and it is simply not true. Both the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) endorse supervised strength training for youth. Research consistently shows that properly coached resistance training is safe, effective, and beneficial for developing bodies. What causes injuries is unsupervised lifting with poor form. Inside the private gym at LIFT Lincoln, that does not happen.

Assessment
Bring your athlete into the gym. Marissa evaluates their movement, strength level, and any areas that need attention. This is where the plan starts.
